“Learning Tap at DSI has helped me to develop a greater awareness and understanding of my own body when I dance.
I enjoy the challenging rhythms and styles of dance as I tap to the interesting variety of music. Tap is not merely about learning steps but also about using the right facial expressions and body gestures to enhance the choreography.
I am very thankful to Ms Sharon Liew for guiding and motivating me year after year. She has worked tirelessly to help me complete all of my Tap exams and I am very proud to say that I have completed my Advance 2 Tap exams with a high distinction."

Contemporary
Our Open Adult Contemporary Class combines elements of several dance genres – Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Lyrical and Street Dance.
Taught by Ms Joy Wang, the vocabulary and techniques used in class are heavily influenced by her professional training and experiences as a dancer.
Students will get to work with spirals and swings, and lyrical movements to encourage physical expression while developing strength, groundedness, and power through exploring elasticity within movements.
Technical but accessible to all, this class encourages each individual to connect to the pleasure of motion.
Open Adult Contemporary
Suitable for all levels
'I started Ballet at DSI at age 4 and then Modern & Tap at age 7. That opened many doors for me as I have been given many opportunities to explore different dance styles, perform for community and private events and compete in competitions.
Doing Contemporary gives me a chance to express my emotions through movement and even though the choreography is challenging at times, it makes me want to work harder to deliver a flawless presentation.
My favourite quote is "When the going gets tough, the tough gets going". Sow the seeds of hard work and you will reap the fruits of success!'
